Red Ribbons and Ruby Lipstick.:There’s a fine line to be drawn Between beautiful and artificial:.
And it’s crossed over blindly every day By little girls with greatly increasing cuts on their hearts And ponytails tied with ribbons still in their hair
Because somewhere along the way The innocent red ribbon is replaced
With enticing ruby lipstick and ebony liner Penciled obscenely over their eyes. And teddy bears are tossed aside As masculine forms fill the void caused by The soft fur of their favorite childhood friend

UntitledHer stomach flipped inside of itself as he pulled up next to her and smiled casually. 6:27. Almost a half an hour late. She over-inhaled a breath of air and opened her car door, slamming it hard and running toward the passenger seat of his dirty, tan Corolla. The rain clung to her auburn hair and pelted towards her; she closed the door quickly as a shield, and turned to him. “Hey.” There was nothing much else to say. They were there for a reason, unspoken, but known to the both of them, and they definitely were not going to be deterred by useless conversation.

Still HereHe always raised his eyebrows drastically and tilted his head at an upward angle when he passed me down the hallway. His left hand was usually tucked casually into his pocket, and I’d assumed it was to keep his pants from falling, though they hung so low that it wouldn’t have made any noticeable difference.

I never understood it, because you would never see him anywhere without a belt; he had two in particular: his favorite was the thick black leather strap covered in large pointed studs. But he also liked the golden Texas emblem belt. He had lived in Texas as a little kid, right outside of Austin. You had to remember it was Aus Still Here

Back from the dead??

I cant believe its been just about 2 years since I stopped posting on this site. How does one update the last two years of their life in one journal entry?

I'll give it a shot...

Well. I married the man that most of my bitter, heartbroken poetry was written about. Casey. Yeah, him. He is my husband

I guess when you come across someone in your life that makes you feel with a passion that he does, its not just an angsty poet's words put on paper. It's meant to be.

I waited for him all through his year of service in Iraq, and when he came back we got married. I moved halfway across the country with him, started a new life, and we are expecting our first little girl on August 5th!!!

I just found it ridiculously ironic while reading back on all of my old writing, and I wanted to share with all of you.

Hopefully I'll have some new work up here soon!
